Engineers without Borders partners with communities to identify their needs and create appropriate sustained solutions.  EWB-KC is involved in our local Kansas City community and international projects in Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. These projects involve the assessment of needs and the design and construction of water, wastewater, sanitation, and renewable energy systems.  EWB-KC has developed strong partnerships with local organizations in each host community.  These partner organizations guide our project work and ensure sustained success.

While engineering is at the heart of EWB, our chapter strives to bring a holistic approach to development by incorporating a variety of disciplines into each project team.  We welcome the expertise of anthropologists, educators, statisticians, sociologists, health professionals, and scientists to address both educational and technical aspects of the program.
